List of things for visitors to do on Museum Open Day in Ipswich -

Hear The Workshops whistle blown, take a rare look inside the historic Powerhouse and experience the Museum and its grounds on Museum Open Day in Ipswich Area on November 11.

On the said day at 10.20am a Remembrance Day service will be held at The Workshops War Memorial followed by a Centenary of Armistice service at 11.45am. Visitors are encouraged to attend to commemorate the end of World War I 100 years ago.

Explore BrisStyle’s signature range of hand-made and one off items or talk a self-guided walking tour of the Heritage Railway Workshops where the heritage steam train fleet is housed and see the Blacksmith Shop in action!

Enter the 1920s through the special exhibitions Underworld: Mugshots from the Roaring Twenties and Glass Plates and Rail Justice. Don’t miss the Museum’s collection of genuine locomotives, big machinery, model railway and kids adventure playground.

Lunch can be purchased from the Trackside Cafe or bring a picnic and enjoy in the Museum grounds.
