Dua Lipa visibly upset as fans removed from China concert

Dua Lipa was left upset during a concert in China on Wednesday night (12Sep18) after security guards forcefully removed fans from the show.

Video footage posted on social media from the New Rules hitmaker's gig in Shanghai shows security guards dragging fans out of their seats. Fans have said that people were ejected from the auditorium for reasons varying from waving pro-LGBT flags, to dancing, to simply standing up.

One clip shows the singer appearing visibly moved by what she's witnessed and telling the crowd she just wants everybody to have a good time.

"I want to create a really safe environment for us all to have fun. I want us all to dance. I want us all to sing, I want us all to just have a really good time," she said. "We're not here for much longer, we have only a few more songs. I would love in these last few songs for us to really, really, really enjoy ourselves. How about that?"

Another clip shows a fan behind hauled away by her arm from her seat near the stage as everybody around her screams and boos, and another being thrown onto the floor and dragged away.

The user wrote in the caption: "I just CANT believe it. This is the show of Dua Lipa in Shanghai. All the fans are forbidden to stand out and could only sit on to see the show?!? If you don’t, the guard would use violence to kick u out. It’s unbelievable... #dualipa (sic)."

More footage shows the guards continuing their behaviour even once the fans were outside the venue. Besides video of a scuffle outdoors, one Twitter user wrote: "And this on is UNBELIEVABLE!!! The audience who were pulled out of the concert by security guards, and also beaten up outside by security guards!!!!!!! These security guards are totally hooligans!!!!!!!!"

This marks the 23-year-old's first tour in China. She is next scheduled to perform in the Philippines on Friday.

Dua has not yet commented on the incident on social media.
